aCCESS
The greatest dance classics of recent years have usually been a collaboration between producers and vocalist. When credited this can be a massive boost for the vocalist as we have seen for artists like Sam Smith, Ellie Goulding, Sia, Becky Hill, Jess Glynn, Emeli Sande and many others however if not credited some of your favourite songs maybe sung by talented musician who may not be household names like Elizabeth Troy on MJ Cole's Crazy Love, Vula on Basement Jaxx "Red Alert", Kelli-Leigh on Duke Dumont's "I Got U" or Carla Monroe on 17 by MK.
At the same time, UK based R'n'B vocalists are struggling to be heard in a very US-dominated genre. We Are Impact, working alongside Spearhead, Shogun & Hospital records created a program to introduce 20 new vocalists to DnB producers and introduce the opportunities that dance music holds to RnB vocalist.
We also provided training for vocalists as to how to avoid the pitfalls and to know their rights as songwriters and performers. Over the 8 week program 18 tracks we written and produced, including all of the tracks used in the documentary. Including Unglued's Way Back When, InMost's Wildfire and Tamara Salmon's Breathe.
